  • Measuring Spoons
  • funnel
  • Glass Bottle or Jar

Ingredients

Pumpkin Spice Syrup

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar light brown
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin puree not pumpkin pie filling
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract pure
  • 1 pinch salt optional

Instructions

  • Combine the brown sugar, water, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice in a saucepan. Whisk until smooth.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture gently simmers and slightly thickens.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt until completely blended.
  • Strain through a fine mesh strainer for an extra silky texture if desired, then cool until warm.
  • Transfer into a clean glass bottle using a funnel and refrigerate until completely chilled.
  • Add 1 to 2 tablespoons to coffee, espresso, lattes, iced drinks, milk, oatmeal, or desserts and stir thoroughly.

Notes

Cook briefly for a thinner syrup or simmer a little longer for a richer consistency without scorching. Chill completely before preparing iced beverages. Shake well before each use because pumpkin naturally settles. Customize with extra cinnamon, cloves, or maple extract. Store refrigerated in a sealed container for up to two weeks.
