For the Cake:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup brewed coffee cooled
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Frosting:
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter softened
- 2 tablespoons brewed coffee
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
For the Cake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
Add eggs, milk, coffee, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
For the Frosting:
In a mixing bowl, beat the butter until smooth.
Gradually add powdered sugar, coffee, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
Beat until smooth and fluffy.
Once the cakes are cool, spread the frosting between the layers and on top.
