Ingredients
  

For the Coffee Donut Base:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp espresso powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Caramel Drizzle:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ tsp sea salt

Instructions
 

Make the Coffee Donuts:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F if baking. If frying, heat oil to 350°F.
  • Whisk flour, sugar, espresso powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  • Mix milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla in another bowl.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
  • Pour batter into a greased donut pan or pipe into a frying pan.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes or fry for 1–2 minutes per side until golden.

Prepare the Caramel Drizzle:

  • Melt sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • Add butter and heavy cream, whisking until smooth.
  • Stir in sea salt and let cool slightly.

Assemble the Donuts:

  • Place warm donuts on a cooling rack.
  • Drizzle caramel generously over each donut.
  • Let set for a few minutes (if you can wait).
