Ingredients
  

Banana Bread Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 3 4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 2 ripe banana mashed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract pure
  • 1 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 8 tsp ground nutmeg optional
  • 1 pinch salt optional

Instructions
 

  • Combine the water, brown sugar, mashed banana, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a saucepan. Whisk until blended.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture gently simmers and slightly thickens.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes so the banana fully infuses the syrup without scorching.
  • Strain through a fine mesh strainer for a silky texture. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt while warm.
  • Transfer into a clean glass bottle using a funnel and refrigerate until completely chilled.
  • Mix 1 to 2 tablespoons into coffee, espresso, lattes, iced drinks, milk, oatmeal, or drizzle over desserts.

Notes

Cook briefly for a lighter consistency or simmer a little longer for a richer syrup without over-thickening. Chill completely before preparing iced beverages. Strain thoroughly for the smoothest finish. Customize with maple extract, walnuts, or extra cinnamon. Store refrigerated in a sealed container for up to two weeks and shake well before each use.
