Custom Rainbow Ice Cream Cake

- 1 box of vanilla cake mix
- 3 pints of different flavored ice cream Rainbow sherbet, chocolate, vanilla, whatever tickles your fancy
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles Go big or go home
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips Optional, because why not?
- Food coloring Red, yellow, blue, green
- 1/4 cup frosting for the outer layer
Bake the cake as per box instructions and let it cool.
Scoop the ice cream into bowls, divide by flavor, and color each one using food coloring.
Slice the cooled cake into two or more layers.
Spread a layer of ice cream onto the cake, followed by a layer of whipped cream.
Freeze for an hour.
Repeat layers as desired (because we all love excess).
Frost the top with whipped cream and decorate with sprinkles and chips.
Freeze again for at least 2 hours before serving.
