  • Measuring Spoons
  • Small Whisk
  • Tall Glasses
  • Long Spoon
  • Ice Tray
  • refrigerator
  • Blender Optional for a smoother, frothy texture

Ingredients

Espresso Base

  • Instant espresso powder — 2 teaspoons (4 g)
  • Hot water — 1/4 cup (60 ml)

French Toast Flavor

  • Maple syrup — 2 tablespoons (30 ml)
  • Vanilla extract — 1 teaspoon (5 ml)
  • Ground cinnamon — 1/2 teaspoon (1.5 g)
  • Ground nutmeg — 1/8 teaspoon (0.3 g), optional

Latte Base

  • Whole milk — 1 1/2 cups (360 ml), chilled
  • Ice cubes — 2 cups (280 g)

Finishing

  • Whipped cream — 1/2 cup (60 g), optional
  • Ground cinnamon — pinch, optional
  • Maple syrup — 1 teaspoon (5 ml), optional drizzle

Instructions

  • Stir the instant espresso powder into hot water until completely dissolved. Let the espresso mixture cool for a few minutes so it does not melt the ice immediately.
  • Add maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and optional nutmeg to the espresso. Whisk until the mixture looks smooth and evenly flavored.
  • Pour the chilled milk into the espresso mixture and stir gently. Taste and adjust the maple syrup or cinnamon to suit your preference.
  • Fill two tall glasses generously with ice. Leave enough space for the latte without making the drink overflow.
  • Pour the French toast latte evenly over the ice. Stir gently to create an even, creamy coffee mixture.
  • For a frothier texture, blend the milk and espresso mixture for 10 to 15 seconds before pouring it over ice.
  • Top with whipped cream if desired. Add a light cinnamon dusting and a small maple syrup drizzle for a dessert-like finish.
  • Serve immediately while the drink remains cold and refreshing. Use slightly less ice for a creamier texture or extra ice for a sharper, colder finish.
  • For an extra French toast flavor, add a tiny pinch of nutmeg or a drop of almond extract before serving.

Notes

Use instant espresso rather than regular instant coffee for a stronger, more concentrated flavor. Cool the dissolved espresso briefly before adding ice to prevent rapid dilution. For a softer, creamier drink, use whole milk and blend briefly. For a lighter version, use low-fat milk or unsweetened oat milk. Customize with extra cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, caramel sauce, or almond extract. Add whipped cream only immediately before serving for the best texture. Refrigerate any unused latte mixture in a sealed container for up to 24 hours, then stir well before serving. Do not freeze the prepared latte because the dairy may separate.
