Ingredients
  

Syrup Base

  • ripe bananas mashed about 1 cup
  • cup brewed coffee strong
  • cup honey
  • tbsp granulated sugar optional for extra sweetness
  • tsp lemon juice
  • pinch salt
  • tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Mash bananas in a bowl until mostly smooth with slight texture remaining.
  • Add coffee, honey, sugar, and lemon juice to a saucepan. Stir well to combine.
  • Heat over medium, stirring until mixture begins to gently simmer.
  • Cook for 10–12 minutes until slightly thickened and glossy, stirring occasionally.
  • Check consistency; syrup should lightly coat the back of a spoon.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt for balanced flavor.
  • Strain if desired, then cool completely before transferring to a jar.

Notes

Simmer longer for thicker texture or reduce time for a thinner syrup. Chill to slightly thicken. Freeze in small portions for longer storage. Stir before use if separation occurs. Adjust honey or vanilla for flavor variation. Store refrigerated up to one week in a sealed container.
