Syrup Base

  • cup fresh blueberries
  • cup brewed coffee strong
  • cup honey
  • tbsp granulated sugar optional
  • tbsp lemon juice
  • pinch salt
  • tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Lightly mash blueberries in a bowl to release juices while keeping some texture.
  • Add blueberries, coffee, honey, sugar, and lemon juice to a saucepan. Stir well.
  • Heat over medium, stirring until mixture begins to gently simmer.
  • Cook for 10–12 minutes until slightly thickened and berries break down.

  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt for balanced flavor.
  • Strain for a silky finish or leave slightly textured. Cool before storing.

Notes

Simmer longer for thicker syrup or reduce time for a thinner consistency. Chill to slightly thicken. Freeze in small portions for extended storage. Stir before use if separation occurs. Adjust honey or lemon for flavor balance. Store refrigerated up to one week in an airtight container.
