Cold Brew:
- 1 cup coarsely ground coffee beans
- 4 cups cold filtered water
Lavender Syrup:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons dried lavender flowers food-grade
To Finish:
- Ice cubes
- Fresh lavender sprigs for garnish, if you’re feeling fancy
Brew the Cold Brew: Combine the coarsely ground coffee beans and cold water in a large jar. Stir, cover, and refrigerate for 12 hours. This is where the magic happens, so let it steep.
Make the Lavender Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and dried lavender. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Let it steep for about 10 minutes. Strain out the lavender flowers and let the syrup cool.
Strain the Cold Brew: After steeping, strain the cold brew through a fine mesh strainer or coffee filter into a clean container.
Combine and Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour in the cold brew and add a splash of lavender syrup to taste. Stir well. Garnish with fresh lavender sprigs if you’re feeling particularly posh.
