Ingredients
  

For the Cake:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup plain yogurt full-fat preferred

For the Glaze (Optional):

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch pan.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well.
  • Stir in vanilla, lemon zest, lemon juice, and yogurt.
  • Gradually mix in dry ingredients until smooth.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes.
  • For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, lemon juice, and milk. Drizzle over cooled cake.
