Ingredients

  • 2 oz mezcal the smokier, the better
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice not that bottled stuff
  • 1 oz orange liqueur triple sec or Cointreau, if you're fancy
  • 1 tsp agave syrup optional, depending on how sweet you like it
  • Lime wedges for garnish and rimming
  • 2 tbsp salt mix with lime zest for that extra zing

Instructions

  • Prepare the salt rim: Rub a lime wedge around the rims of your glasses. Dip them in the lime salt mixture and set aside.
  • Mix the cocktail: In a shaker, add the mezcal, lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave syrup. Fill with ice and shake it like your life depends on it.
  • Serve: Strain the mixture into your prepared glasses over ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.
  • Enjoy: Sip slowly—it’s smoky, strong, and sneaky.
