Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in sour cream and vanilla extract.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  • In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts if using.
  • Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Top with remaining batter and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
