Ingredients
  

Hazelnut Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp hazelnut extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract optional
  • 1 pinch salt optional

Instructions
 

  • Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Simmer gently for 2 to 3 minutes. The syrup should remain clear while thickening slightly.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the hazelnut extract, vanilla extract, and salt until fully blended.
  • Cool until warm. The syrup should look glossy and pour smoothly without becoming sticky.
  • Transfer carefully into a clean glass bottle using a funnel. Refrigerate before serving.
  • Add 1 to 2 tablespoons to coffee, lattes, iced drinks, hot chocolate, milk, or desserts and stir well.

Notes

Simmer briefly for a lighter syrup or one minute longer for a richer texture without overcooking. Chill completely before preparing iced beverages. Handle gently while assembling layered drinks for the best presentation. Customize with almond extract, cinnamon, or cocoa. Store refrigerated in a sealed container for up to one month and shake before each use.
