For the Cake:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Filling:
- 2 medium apples peeled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar
For the Topping:
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
In a bowl, mix dry ingredients for the cake.
Beat butter and sugar until creamy, then add eggs and vanilla.
