Equipment

  • whisk
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • funnel
  • Glass Bottle or Jar

Ingredients

Toffee Nut Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp toffee extract
  • 1 tsp hazelnut extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt optional

Instructions

  • Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Simmer gently for 2 to 3 minutes until the syrup slightly thickens while remaining clear.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the toffee extract, hazelnut extract, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Cool until warm. The syrup should appear glossy and coat the back of a spoon lightly.
  • Transfer into a clean glass bottle using a funnel. Refrigerate until completely chilled before serving.
  • Mix 1 to 2 tablespoons into coffee, espresso, lattes, iced drinks, milk, or drizzle over desserts.

Notes

Reduce simmering time for a lighter consistency or simmer one minute longer for a richer texture without caramelizing. Chill completely before preparing iced beverages. Stir gently while assembling layered drinks. Customize with almond extract or cinnamon. Store refrigerated in a sealed container for up to one month and shake before each use.
