Ingredients

  • cup fresh blueberries
  • cup brewed coffee strong
  • cup granulated sugar
  • tbsp lemon juice
  • tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch salt

Instructions
 

  • Lightly mash blueberries in a bowl to release juices while keeping some texture.
  • Add blueberries, coffee, sugar, and lemon juice to a saucepan. Stir well.
  • Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  • Cook for 10–12 minutes until mixture thickens slightly and berries soften.
  • Check consistency; syrup should coat the back of a spoon smoothly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt for balanced flavor.
  • Strain for a silky finish or leave slightly textured. Cool before storing.

Notes

Simmer longer for thicker syrup or reduce time for a lighter consistency. Chill to slightly thicken. Freeze in small portions for longer storage. Stir before use if separation occurs. Adjust vanilla or lemon for flavor balance. Store refrigerated up to one week in an airtight container.
