Ingredients
  

For the Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¾ cup strong brewed coffee cooled
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans.
  • Mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Beat softened butter and eggs until fluffy and ready to take on the world.
  • Add brewed coffee, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla. Stir until it feels like magic.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until the batter is smooth and confident.
  • Divide the batter between the cake pans and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
  • For the frosting, beat softened butter and powdered sugar until it’s a sweet, fluffy cloud.
  • Add maple syrup, vanilla, and heavy cream. Mix until smooth.
  • Frost the cooled cake layers with the maple frosting. Serve with pride.
