  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • funnel
  • Glass Bottle or Jar

Ingredients

Gingerbread Syrup

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar light or dark
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp molasses unsulphured
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract pure
  • 1 pinch salt optional

Instructions

  • Combine the brown sugar, water, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves in a saucepan. Whisk until smooth.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture gently simmers and slightly thickens.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt until fully blended.
  • Strain through a fine mesh strainer if desired for an extra smooth syrup, then cool until warm.
  • Transfer into a clean glass bottle using a funnel and refrigerate until completely chilled.
  • Add 1 to 2 tablespoons to coffee, espresso, lattes, iced drinks, milk, hot chocolate, or desserts and stir well.

Notes

Simmer briefly for a thinner consistency or slightly longer for a richer syrup without over-reducing. Chill completely before making iced beverages. Shake before each use because spices naturally settle. Customize with nutmeg, allspice, or orange extract. Store refrigerated in a sealed container for up to three weeks.
